So now that I work 50+ hours a week, it is difficult to get a good work out in. Don't you worry. Don't you worry. I get my workout watching my favorite football team. Oh shoot, I meant to write that in the past tense. I
got my workout watching my favorite football team.
Changing the subject... Have you heard of Tivo and/or DVR? It's the best thing ever! I can watch all my favorite programs when I want to. Anyway, it's funny that you should ask about DVR because, I've been watching some Seinfeld episodes...when I want to watch them!!
Remember that episode where George's girlfriend gets mono and George can't have sex with her? George was not preoccupied with thinking about sex and incidentally he spent time learning much more about the world around him. He developed an interest in chemistry, linguistics and how to hit home runs consistently. Last night I watched that episode and then my Colts lost badly.
I wasted a lot of time following the Colts. Reading blogs, looking up stats, arguing with Baltimore Ravens fans about where Peyton Manning would be in Dante's Paradise, and finding out what Marvin Harrison had for breakfast.
I was having a conversation with Josiah about Providence and God's will for my life. I do not want to believe that my life is determined by random chance, I want to believe that God is actively involved in my life. I know... but believe it or not I am much more self-centered in personal. Call me.
Now, I am going to bring it all together. I don't believe watching that Seinfeld episode was random chance, I think God was talking to me through George's chastity [In convo (conversation) I refer to George as St. George; people give me weird looks, but I know God is smiling down on me.]. I believe that like George having to give up sex, if I am to be a better person I need to let go of the Colts. So, goodbye NFL Network, goodbye helpful tabs directing me to up to the minute info on the Colts and goodbye Bob Sanders shrine (WHY DON'T YOU EAT ANY OF MY FRUIT!??? Don't you like my incense!????) As Aslan would say, further in and further up." I feel liberated. I feel free to spend more time on other pursuits.
My fantasy football team, Tom Bombadil, is going to kick so much *ass now.
*Yeah, I bet you saw that coming a mile away.
